Colonial Era

American house styles have evolved over centuries, reflecting the country's cultural and technological advancements. During the colonial era, houses were often built in the Georgian style, characterized by its symmetrical shape, two-story construction, and simple lines. These homes were often made of wood or brick and featured a central fireplace for heating and cooking.

Saltbox Style

Another popular colonial style was the saltbox, which featured a story-and-a-half design with a roofline that sloped down on one side. This style was well-suited to the cold New England climate, as it provided additional insulation and storage space in the attic.
